Yakkity yak, don’t talk back.

Last year, I turned to the blog for some suggestions, and I really liked what everyone had to say.
So I’m doing it again. I’ve got $1000 in tax refund money, and once again, I do not need this money. Suggestions, anyone?
Hell, have fun. Make it as outlandish as you want. Sure, I could break down and get a 360, but that’s obvious. Plus, I’m still playing God of War 2 and Final Fantasy 12. With Guitar Hero 1+2 to practice with if I get bored.
In other news, I saw Children of Men last weekend. I’m willing to say it was the best picture of 2006.
I have a friend who wants to send me something from Japan. Suggestions? I know nothing about the land of the Rising Sun.
I also saw Andrew WK at one of the parties he’s doing on his speaking tour. I swear, I have never seen anyone like him perform. Tiny place, he does some ‘ambient’ stuff with a DJ there, and then starts playing some of his songs, just with the DJ. The place goes apeshit, and the next thing I know, Andrew is pulling people up onto the stage: “Hey, you can dance, too!”
The rest of the set was performed with something close to 30 people on stage. Everybody had a great time. I laughed, down in front, because really, who does stuff like that? I’m not saying you should go see him live. Most likely his music is not your bag. But he’s a hell of a show.
The last batch of beer I made came out super-awesome. However, I made it for my girl’s birthday, so you probably won’t get any.
Things have been a little weird, otherwise. I guess I’d better get back to writing again.

Invest in:
Or, if you’ll need the money soonish, an ING CD.
Or a trip to Mexico.
Money Ideas:
1. Rent room. Fill room with styrofoam packing peanuts. Throw party in room.
2. Do you have a friend that really needs something or is having a hardship? You could give it to them.
3. Nice weekend away for you and your girl.
4. Buy art.
Japan ideas:
1. All I know about Japan is they have awesome fabric. I’d want lots of different craft supplies.
2. My friend brought us back all sorts of Japanese snacks. Trying different stuff was a lot of fun.
3. Video games or consumer electronics.
Got stock and IRA covered. Mortgage bonds? Never even heard of those.
Mexico might be neat, though.
The cleanup on the party room would be a bear, though.
heh.
You’ve got $1000. Hire someone.
I like the “buy art” suggestion.
It’s a pretty good one. Something neat to look at is certainly cooler than blank walls.
Last year, I suggested a moped, since I thought oil would hit $100 a barrel by the end of the summer. It didn’t get that high, but I repeat my suggestion nonetheless, because it’s only a matter of time, especially if the Bonehead In Chief starts lobbing missiles at Iran.
Failing that, git yerself some cocaine and some hookers whose butts to snort it off of.
(Apologies for the dangling participle)
A moped would make sense if 1) I didn’t have a pretty solid car that gets pretty decent gas mileage and 2) I didn’t live in a place that had rain/snow 7-9 months out of the year.
But let’s hope there’s no fucking Iranian missile crisis, because who wants that?
Terrorists, that’s who.
But strippers and coke. Shit. Who can’t get behind that idea?
Think BIG! Buy an african child a mosquito net and save him/her from malaria at http://www.worldvision.org ,

Follow your heart (and skip the strippers and coke!!!!)
I love you, Mom.
P.S. Are you really fostering a wild horse? I would pay to see Dad’s face when you told him about that one.
As with your suggestion last year, I have already earmarked some money for charities-the homless, and Habitat.
You’re a good man, DM!
Stippers and coke go better when I’ve given back, you know?
Damn, I have no witty reply……………..
Somehow I missed this post. Not a lot coming to mind right now, but how about…
Botox for everyone!
