My Own Little Free Speech Zone

If you happen to live in Maine or Massachusetts, tomorrow is Patriot’s Day. In honor of the holiday, I decided to take a drive down to Kennebunkport and let the President know what I’ve thought of his job performance these past 7+ years:

Right to the (Walker's) Point My Visit With Dubya

Yes, I’m fully aware that Dear Leader was not actually home. Had he been, the road for miles around Walker’s Point would have been closed off by the Secret Service in order to prevent various and sundry riff raff like me (otherwise known as “voters”) from showing up and pestering Our President (otherwise known as “our employee.”)

I’m pretty sure that under Article 666 of the Patriot Act, making fun of Dear Leader constitutes treason. So if I happen to disappear and none of you ever hear from me again, you’ll know why.

Happy Birthday, Baby Jack!

Hey y’all.. My kid is one years old today! Woo-Hoo! As usual, he’s got a big day of crawling, making dinosaur noises, smiling and clapping ahead of him :)

Of course this is a total cliche, but this year has been a blur.. We’ve gone from this to this… Wow.

Because I hate doing research

My mom wants to buy me a digital camera for Christmas. That’s awfully nice of her, and certainly I wouldn’t mind having one, but I don’t know the first thing about such devices. As I say in the title: I hate doing research.
And it’s not like I’m any kind of photog. I just figure it’d be nice to take a picture now and then that doesn’t have to be scanned. Which should tell you about what my needs are, as far as a camera goes.
So, if ya’ll have any thoughts then I’d be grateful to hear them.

August Camping

Dina and I went camping this weekend, at Tinkham campground, which is in the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. It was a nice campsite–secluded from the others with few rocks and a fairly flat place to lay the tent. The only drawback of the campsite is that it’s near enough to I-90 that every once in a while you can hear the faint rumble of a semi. Mostly, though, you hear the Snoqualmie River. We stayed two nights and ate good food, drank good beer, played Scrabble, and played in the river. We also saw a guy pee out of the front of his tent. Apparently he didn’t want to put on his shoes.

Here are some pics. Not of the peeing guy–of camp.

Fun. More here.

I’m thinking of a big camping trip for my 30th next month . . . maybe we rent 3 or 4 campsites? Any Seattle peeps up for it?

Oh, check it out, Dina bought a condo. It’s pretty sweet.

Here’s the pictures from the Tri-Cities (lots of Jack in there), and the pics from our evening at the Red Sox/M’s game..

Enjoy! Let me know what you think…
